Thinkin’ Long, Thinkin’ Wrong

When mountain biking (or cycling in general), a rider is continually faced with decisions about how to handle the coming terrain. In fact, it seems the more you think about it, the harder the terrain is to handle. So, the saying that I have always associated with this is, “Thinkin’ Long, Thinkin’ Wrong.” Okay, so I don’t always follow it, but I still do believe it.

There are two main ways you can be “Thinkin’ Long, Thinkin’ Wrong”. Thinking too much while actually riding, and thinking too much before starting to ride.

To remedy this:

1. Pick your line and stick with it.
2. Just ride. Don’t think about it.

I mean I crash enough as it is, I don’t need to create more wrecks by thinking too much.

A Bike-Nerds Joke

A tired cyclist stuck his thumb out for a lift: After 3 hours, hadn't got anyone to stop. Finally, a guy in a sports car pulled over and offered him a ride. But the bike wouldn't fit in the car. The driver got some rope out of the trunk and tied it to his bumper. He tied the other end to the bike and told the rider: "If I go too fast, ring your bell and I'll slow down." Everything went well until another sports car blew past them. The driver forgot all about the cyclist and put his foot down. A short distance down the road, they hammered through a speed trap. The cop with the radar gun and radioed ahead that he had 2 sports cars heading his way at over 150 mph. He then relayed, "and you're not going to believe this, but there's a cyclist behind them ringing his bell to pass!".

A Little Bike-Nerd Humor

So, it’s Monday, and a little humor is in order. So please enjoy:

______________________________

A bike-nerd was walking down the sidewalk one day when his friend, another bike-nerd, rode up on an incredible shiny new bicycle.

The first bike-nerd was stunned by his friend's sweet ride and asked, "WOW! Where did you get such a nice bike?"

The second bike-nerd replied, "Well, yesterday I was walking home, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up to me on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, 'Take what you want!'"

The first bike-nerd nodded approvingly, "Good choice. The clothes probably wouldn't have fit."

The "Fat Man's Hike-A-Bike" Design

A while back I did a post about what I call the Fat Man’s Hike-a-Bike. Well, inspiration struck, and I had to do a t-shirt design. So, I am also saving my nickels and pennies to get this one myself.

As a refresher, you can read all about the Fat Man’s Hike-a-Bike here.

And now the design:
