When mountain biking (or cycling in general), a rider is continually faced with decisions about how to handle the coming terrain. In fact, it seems the more you think about it, the harder the terrain is to handle. So, the saying that I have always associated with this is, “Thinkin’ Long, Thinkin’ Wrong.” Okay, so I don’t always follow it, but I still do believe it.There are two main ways you can be “Thinkin’ Long, Thinkin’ Wrong”. Thinking too much while actually riding, and thinking too much before starting to ride.
To remedy this:
1. Pick your line and stick with it.
2. Just ride. Don’t think about it.
I mean I crash enough as it is, I don’t need to create more wrecks by thinking too much.
